Anyways I like it, I suppose I'll get the full game. It's definitely a lot more accessible than actual Deus Ex although it's still kind of obtuse but I think that's something you just have to deal with when it comes to immersive sims in general, part of the fun is figuring out how the game and the world work I suppose. Stealth and combat are both actually really fun although 'peteia is not immune to slavjank, the most glaring example of which is the way ladders work where instead of being a separate ladder entity that you can effectively "walk" up and down (how ladders in most video games work) the ladders in this game are literally a bunch of brushes stacked on top of one another so when you climb up and down ladders you have to use the ledge grab mechanic across the whole thing. I don't know if the way I explained that makes sense so any readers should get the demo and see for themselves. The upside of this jank is I think it's really funny to imagine it's canon and Marie just doesn't know how to use ladders somehow.
The game is also really really well optimized and ran like a dream, and normally I think the PS2-type graphics thing is really ugly but this game does it pretty well. The only thing I'll say about the art style in a negative way is Marie herself doesn't really look like she belongs in my opinion, she's very high detail compared to the other characters (at least in the demo area) but she gets sort of a pass because I like her character design a lot, especially in the game itself. As for the worldbuilding, I like it as well, I find a lot of cyberpunk games are very tryhard with their style in the sense that there's a lot of overexplaining. Don't get me wrong, I love 2077 for example because of its depth, but once you get used to it it starts to feel very normal imo, but I like that Polish Deus Ex goes all in on the dystopia rather than trying to make itself super realistic and asking a lot of questions, it's very evocative and feels very focused because of it.
