>>124755>Censorship always le bad>Muh state overreachChina is an authoritarian dictatorship doe. They're an enemy of America no matter how you look at it and while I don't buy that tiktok is blasting le communism rays into the children's heads, I think all or a significant portion of the considerable amount of money the CCP makes off TikTok, Temu, Shien, etc., goes straight into their military or political apparatus, which means
>Greater threat to Taiwan>Greater threat to India>Greater threat to Vietnam>Greater threat to Mongolia>Greater threat to Japan>Continued Chinese backing of Putin, stalling any attempt at democracy in RussiaLet's say you don't gaf about geopolitics, there's also a cultural aspect to it. This applies to most social media platforms but tiktok exacerbates it through exclusively employing short-form videos, but there's a real and measurable drop in attention span, making the generation that will be the next leaders of the world into consoomers who can't hold a conversation. This is on top of the new internet culture (post-2016) generally being very focused on some form or continuation of cringe culture, and I've noticed that 20 and under people generally are very selfish, entitled, and malicious, and often go out of their way to be straight up annoying, and I think this is due to the increasing prominence of social media.
Sorry for writing another manifesto but no matter how you look at it tiktok is le bad and the CCP is le bad, this is hardly a "muh overreach" issue imo
