taxing mexico makes sense because jobs actually leave from usa to mexico because of the cost of labour (at sacrifice of quality)
taxing canada & refusing to elaborate is difficult
why only taxing CHYNA at 10% whilst canada at 25% ??

 No.128006

because cuckservatives hate canada so taxing them makes for better headlines or smth

Leaf oil might actually go down because you guys have a shitload of your own in Alberta and (unless your next PM kowtows to Trump) are still in good standing with the rest of the world. You'll probably subsist on a mix of Canadian, Middle Eastern, and Chinese (and possibly Russian, if your govt gets desperate) oil.

My theory is that with Trump making it a massive pain in the ass to trade with America, China will come swoop up the lost market share in Europe, Africa, Asia, South Aamerica and probably now North America outside of the US.

I hope I'm wrong and I very well may be because I don't have any kind of formal economic education but I think it's plausible enough
>America sucks to trade with
>Companies look elsewhere
<Ohhh herro global businesses! Trade with us! We won't tariff you out the ass!
>Suddenly China is #OnTop building more concentration camps, missiles, and army bases

globalism is getting frustrated so it makes sense for usa to become more reliant within its borders by encouraging national industry
i think canada and usa should keep working together as always because usa could easily btfo leaf army whenever they wanted, so as long as it is mutually beneficial i don't know why usa would aim to kneecap leaf gdp like this

i dont think gas prices will go down in canada because our industry would probably just make less petrol products than produce at a lower margin, and because petrol produces a wide range of commodities by density (kerosene, diesel, air craft fuel, gasoline) & with a smaller market in general, gas prices will just go up and the other commodities associated with gas production could get reduced in price as quicksell

everything is probabbly going to get worse for middle and working class americans and canadians for a while, maybe some american middle class will benefit from local industry in 10 years but i can't see anything good about it

should have taxed mexico only
