>>139639i think authoritarianism, particularly right-wing authoritarianism, attracts people with misanthropic tendencies because they know it's a nonsense ideology but they want to watch the world burn. Most people I've seen advocate for rw auth states or policy don't seem to have a coherent, grounded, science-based point of view as to how their policy will actually make life better. at most they gesture to pseudoscience and half-baked studies, but I think the real endgame is to watch the world burn. Consider the disparity in the number of trolls on the left vs the right. the left has its trolls, yes, but as a demographic, they generally take politics much, MUCH more seriously than the right (in america) - the American right in general is very tribalistic and very reliant on the lizard brain in my findings, which I think is how they got so popular with normies, especially young men. Why think about politics and try to pursue a better future when you can own the libs?
I apologize if that comes across as condescending, it's just an observation I've made and I'm not the authority on these things, I'm just a retard with a keyboard.
TLDR: he doesn't trust them, that's the point
