I've at some points entertained in my head the idea of the government swooping in and fixing the internet, but I can't think of a good way to do it. I'm not a huge fan of modern rap. playboi carti is actually a perfect encapsulation of why. I think it all started with lil pump but it seems like ever since ~2015 the predominant form of rapping is just kind of mumbling and slurring and meandering your way through a boring beat. Some, of course, do it better than others, and that's the difference between someone like, say, juice wrld or xxxtentacion and someone like 6ix9ine. I still don't like it for the most part, but there's some skill in the former two just not seen with the latter. Mafia Don is good but bland. The beat is good, the vocals are passable. The song could use more bass, I feel like it didn't really punch at all but otherwise it's fine. I DO THE MOST had me enjoying it for like the first half before it got repetitive. I got up to BACKDOOR A MF before I decided the album wasn't worth my time, gomennasorry. If you want to listen to something good, I'd recommend Cheers by Obie Trice.
