>>208259I like the Wii a lot better, I think the best path forward for shittendo would be to retool and upgrade the internals of the Wii and rerelease it with a MASSIVE advertising campaign basically emphasizing the social aspect of it and really leaning into muh 2000s frutiger aero aesthetic because I think those are easily the two biggest selling points of the Wii. As long as they don't make it about nostalgia too blatantly it shouldn't feel condescending but I think there's a real hole in the market now for couch co-op, it kind of died after the 7th generation and then covid came along and drove the death nail into the metaphorical coffin but I saw that there was reasonable amounts of hype around the new TMNT game and how it had couch co-op and that was a major part of its advertising so I think among people who aren't NEETs there's kind of a latent demand for a return to video games as a social experience and the Wii is easily the best candidate to fill the problem of "I need something that's fun with friends and user friendly". Even if you think that idea is stupid, do you really have a better one? Nintendo execs don't.
>Oh I have an idea let's release the switch again but this time it's black and even more expensiveRetarded. Maybe I'd be a bad exec bc the switch 2 sold like hotcakes which is weird because I don't know a single person who was super excited for it. Everyone I knew either:
A.) Had a Switch already and didn't see the point in buying a Switch 2
B.) Wasn't interested in the Switch to begin with
C.) Wanted a Switch but it was out of their price range; when the Switch 2 dropped they didn't switch to wanting that but instead were looking forward to the price drop in original Switch models.
