>>216797I like tattoos a lot but I'm superstitious about them. Normally I don't listen to my father but when it comes to matters of theology he's very knowledgeable imo. Sadly, the Bible indirectly has a lot to say about tattoos, which restricts my options a lot. For example, according to him, I can't get skulls or the name of the dead, because invoking the dead is necromancy. I also can't get any names of the living, because that's veneration and could be seen as worship. I can't get snakes, because apparently snakes are satanic imagery (although I don't know if I believe that one fully; anything could be satanic imagery if you tried hard enough, but I understand the thought process), and I can't get crosses either, that amounts to a graven image. I'm pretty sure there's a god, it seems more likely than not, and I believe it's the Christian god, I have no evidence but that's kind of what religion is, it's irrational, but it's what some people believe anyways. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It doesn't really matter in the end, if there is a god, great. If there isn't, I'll be too dead to care. If the Muslims are right, that would suck, because I'm almost certainly going to hell if that's the case, but I suppose you take that gamble just by existing, so… It's whatever.
Tattoos are irreversible so I'd rather not get anything that could be offensive to any god that there might be, but I really like the idea of them and generally think they look pretty good.
Piercings are cool because they're a lot more accessible but I haven't gotten any yet except my ear piercings which most people have anyways so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think I might get a snakebite or a nose ring but it really depends on if I can stay on task with my workouts tbh
