>SCP
I miss old SCP. It used to be cool before the children found it. Then again, being a part of people's childhood is kind of part of its identity so I can't be too mad at it I guess. SCP isn't *directly* responsible for this I suppose but I hate that it popularized "science-horror". Now every new horror thing that comes out, every new wannabe creepypasta, has some connection to some shadowy government organization or it's through the lens of a partially classified report or some shit, or worse, it's le secret experiment by le evil corporation, all this new hororslop is trying to ape either SCP or FNAF and in a lot of cases both. I 'membah when horror was just fun and not meant to be overexplained or given too much backstory. Slenderman literally has no backstory, his whole thing is he's a tall guy with no face who kills you for no reason, and slenderman is fuckin awesome.
Anyhow I'm actually playing Containment Breach rn, it's pretty fun even unmodded. I think they did a good job giving you little hints and nibbles at 9341's backstory and it's cool that he was supposedly a researcher before being demoted to Class-D for researching some restricted thing or other. The SCP mythos is really interesting and I like the way it was at least initially designed. The Ethics Committee is a good read/listen and the splinter groups are cool for the most part. The GOC are objectively correct and you can't tell me otherwise. Some SCPs are cool like 999 and 500 but I see no reason not to put 173 into a trash compactor and call it a day. The Foundation are irresponsible imo for just casually keeping things like 173 around for the sake of "muh science".
Chaos Insurgency fills the role of the anti-Foundation pretty well but they're kinda retarded when you think about it for more than 5 minutes
>We hate the Foundation because ?????
>In order to subvert the Foundation we will attack their facilities and release potentially world ending monsters into the wild
>We are the good guys
It's hard to fathom why anyone would actually join the CI beyond being accelerationist. I suppose "Chaos" is in the name but still, it's flimsy writing and I'd prefer it if they were more of an anti-hero faction that opposed the Foundation on ethical grounds (for example, using human guinea pigs) and called them out on their shortcomings (why kill Class-Ds at the end of the month? Death row inmates aren't an unlimited resource, and even then, amnestics are a thing in the SCP universe, so killing them is unnecessary)
Anywho
