I think it's only fucked up to say Merry Christmas to Jewish people, because their relationship with Jesus is directly adversarial. It's okay to say it to Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Atheists, and so on, because their relationship with Jesus is, at worst, neutral, so they're able to celebrate it as a secular holiday. In the case of le "militant atheist" I think if he gets mad at you for wishing him a Merry Christmas it's his own problem and his own sperg out. I understand why people think "Happy Holidays" is more inclusive but I also think you'd be forgiven for saying Merry Christmas as your default saying because most people celebrate Christmas in some form or another.

I mean yeah, I wouldn't say Merry Christmas to a full-uniformed Orthodox Jew, but if I happened to, I think it's kind of on him to recognize that since most people aren't Jewish there was probably no malicious intent behind it
