He was born deformed and ill, a dwarf, but instead of being abandoned or killed for his weakness and deformity like what we are told about primitive humans, he lived to an adult age and was showered in empathy and love by his community before dying and being buried with priceless jewellery, a show of his tribe's devotion to him. Humans are not animals, we are innately religious, spiritual and creative which are magical natures. Only the creation of modern society reduced us to soulless animals.

somebody with his ailments will almost always becomes a victim of natural or sexual selection, especially one living in his time period, so i dont think this disproooves anything. the people in the tribe probably kept him alive because there were relatively few people back then and they had the excess resources to feed those incapable of feeding themselves, and it was apparent that he would be the end of his genetic lineage. as for the jewelry, people with dwarfism are rare and on account of their condition they were likely to be considered the result of some sort of divine intervention. i dont doubt that if food was scarce one winter they would have turned manletito to the lions

His life would suck if he were aware that people instinctively feel pity or worse, disgust for his condition. But like the other guy said they probably all assumed it made him special instead.
It would be a whitepill, if human society were still so whimsical. But it's not
