the thing about 4chan being down for an extended amount of time is that it usually returns being better because all the perma online creatures did something other than lurking all their free time for once and actually have something to post about.

Since 4chan is down people are doing other things with their time, and they may decide to stop posting on 4chan entirely. Some of them are waiting but if it takes 4chan a month then most of them will have already left. When 4chan comes back it will probably have less PPH which might cause people to leave the site as well. They are depending on unpaid volunteers to fix their security vunerabilities, if it's too much work the volunteers might just give up and then 4chan would rot.

4chan no longer puts up a cloudflare error. it now says "Service Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later." so maybe someone finally started working on it.

>>320410 If the leaks are correct and there's no way to restore the threads that were previously up while upgrading the site, this will be like genocide for all the terminally slow boards geared towards niche interests i.e /ic/, /i/, /3/, etc. Honestly not even sure if the anonymous imageboard website format is all that compatible with discussion of these interests in the first place so this might be better for them. I have no doubt that the big and fast boards like /v/, /pol, and /vt/ will get close to if not back to regular speed. However if a large enough poster population likes the looser moderation on 8chan and other alts enough to stay then the character of each board might change pretty drastically as newfags come in in wake of the recent drama.
