Like any other answer, it depends who you ask. You ask me so — to me, there are many facets to BJD, and doll collecting in general. I can make it easy to read list:

1. It is my little world.
2. It is a double hobby! Photography and Collection.
3. You can play with them!
4. You can make one, or make new pieces if you know how. Making a new part or make a cute new fabric for it (of course, you can commission someone to make it).
5. It's cute!

Dolls are empty, void. And need to be filled
