There is no correlation between Sonic and autism and no one has ever claimed such. NT chads only

This video sucked. Autistic people like Sonic primarily because he's cool, that's why they all use his catchphrases

I wrote a large post on why this video sucks but I keep getting a "wrong password" error whenever I try to post it, so I'm making this post instead.

Trying to post it again…
This video sucked. Whenever you want to explain a trend, you need to do the following things.
1. Show that the trend actually exists.
2. Give a hypothesis (or give many)
3. (Optional, but recommended) give evidence that the hypothesis is correct, and that it explains the trend better than any other hypothesis.

The guy completely failed to establish that there is a link between sonic and autism. Instead, he simply tried to explain the link between the two without actually giving any evidence.

For sonic to be related to autism, you'd need to have a study that compares allistic people to autistic people. I can think of three ways to do the study.
1. Take a bunch of autistic people and allistic peopl4e and ask them what their favorite video games are, and then compare the prevalence of certain video games.
2. Take a bunch autistic people and allistic give them some video games including sonic and have them rate the video games.
3. look into sonic fan forums and then test them for autism (This is probably worse since there might be an autism bias in fan forums, IE allistic people may be less likely to spend time on the internet talking about sonic, even though they like them more).

> I had to delete some paragraphs to make it not give me "wrong password error".

The only hypothesis the person gave was that sonic had flashy colors, which appeals to autistic people. He again, didn't have any evidence that video games with flashy colors are more appealing to autistic people than allistic people than. Sonic also isn't the only game with flashy colors, so it should be the case that any popular game with flashy colors would have a large autistic fandom if we take this as the sole explainaition.

His other two explainations explained different things than the supposed link between sonic and autism. The explaination about special interests explains why autistic people who like sonic would be more likely to talk about it online, but not why autistic people are drawn to it. The third explaination gives a reason for why autistic people like video games, but not why they like sonic.

I feel like sonic has more autistic fans than other video games, but I don't have any evidence for that at all, so I'm not going to make a 10 minute video about the link without establishing it exists. If the video was called "the reason why sonic might have more autistic fans than other fandoms" then it would be slightly better, but over all, the explainations weren't sonic specific so his video dosen't explain much.

The paragraph I deleted was

I'd also want the person to establish sonic as unique in terms of having autistic fans. If autistic people have a higher prevalence to enjoy childr3n's media, and they need to show their affinity for sonic is greater than that of other childr3n's media.

This is interesting. Recently through observation of various logos and designs I came to conclusion that normalpsychos love the color yellow. Turns out neurodiversity affecting color preference was not something that I had a random crazy thought about but a real thing
found this a moment ago https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5179595/ and looks like my theory was right
>boys with ASD were significantly less likely than TD boys to prefer yellow
which means I'm smarter than scientists because I don't need research to reach certain conclusions
