KDE 6 is a dogshit release. KDE on X11 is more unstable and is unusable, while KDE on Wayland is slightly more stable at this point, but has other bugs which make usability so obnoxious as shit. i'm just considering on going for a X11 WM or that hot new Hyprland compositor, hoping it has less bugs than KDE on Wayland.

>>333796 Why not just get a bigger SSD to run your OS on and use the old one strictly as storage or a backup? Is it an old laptop with only one slot to put drives in? If so maybe you should get one of those nub flash drives that only stick out a little and treat that as a limited use drive if storage is such a big deal.
>>333797 I only spend money on food and the status quo of having an OS on a small fast drive with large spare drives for storage and backups hasn't been so bad I think I'd run into the -Scc issue on a terabyte drive anyway, eventually, as long as I have root and home separate

If so retire your old toaster to be a home server or whatever or give it to a young family member. 3: Do the games you wanna play while on the go have good controller support? If not you'll need either Valves or a third party docking station and or a dongle at the very least but I'd personally get a proper dock for more port options. 4: Do you mind playing vidya on a smaller screen? flamp >Amateur Radio Communications >FLAMP is a program for AMP or Amateur Multicast Protocol. An FLAMP session will transmit one or more files with one or more iterations of the transmission. Each file is broken into blocks, each of which has a check sum. The receiving station saves the blocks that pass check sum. Successive transmissions will fill in the missing blocks provided that the new blocks pass the check sum. After the transmission sequence, the entire file is assembled and may be saved. “Fills” may be provided by retransmitting the entire file or by the sending station only sending the missing blocks.

>What is the Steam Deck 2 release date? New developments in the mobile processor market have led to some speculation being cast that the Steam Deck 2 could be closer than we first believed. Could Valve turn to a more traditional solution to power the Steam Deck 2, and could it get the jump on competitors to AMD’s shiny new mobile processor?
>Valve may have already released the best handheld gaming pc as we coined it in our Steam Deck review, but that doesn’t mean the company has been resting on its laurels. We saw that with the refreshed Steam Deck OLED and the company has confirmed it’s also already hard at work putting together a Steam Deck 2. This isn’t too surprising given how many people are clearly interested in the Deck. Time will tell, however, how much of an upgrade it will offer and whether it can stand up to more powerful competitors.

the 7600x3d also is really good !! im building for monster hunter wilds, and the benchmarks for it are good on dragons dogma, another capcom cpu bound game.
considering the marginal price/performance difference with the 7800x3d and 9800x3d but difficult price volatility, maybe its best to build for an am4 socket 7600x3d and spare yourself the market headache
The not-so-secret redpill about tech is that APUs are the future and the sole reason why the Steam Deck performs so well. Parallel computing is MASSIVELY favoured by a majority of present-day applications, and people are beginning to wonder if it wouldn't just be more efficient to run your CPU tasks on a few reserved threads out of your GPU.
This isn't presently practical since GPU architecture is very simplistic compared to x86_64 (and GPU single-thread performance is poor compared to CPU single-thread), but once APU-compatible architecture (like ARM64 on phones and now Win11) is developed further, the advantages of APUs are going to become really obvious.
For instance, one of the biggest problems with graphics programming is that VRAM read/writes are hella slow, and you have to duplicate a bunch of shit between RAM and VRAM a lot of the time. But under an APU, """"CPU"""" and """"GPU"""" tasks can use the exact same RAM and assembly instructions, which is a godsend. Kind of makes me wonder if something like TempleOS running on an APU (since Terry famously hated the ways GPUs are accessed and only wrote 640x480 VGA software renderers) would have been a graphics powerhouse.
The Arc A770 GPUs can't into AI, even if they have 16gb of VRAM. They can't use FP64 and because of this they can't store data over 4gb in one batch. If you have a model that weighs 8gb, your model is split into 4gb+4gb, then it copy merges them in the VRAM as 8gb, then, you need to delete those 4gb+4gb in the VRAM (because you are right now storing 16gb in total). In resume, you can't store any AI model over 8gb without getting an OOM. Intel is fucking retarded. https://github.com/intel/compute-runtime/issues/627#issuecomment-1902666795

>>333908 that GPU will enjoy dogshit memory bandwidth and latency and share that burden with the CPU which has ever-increasing memory performance demand and this cannot be solved without completely reworking system memory or just building the framebuffer into the CPU package which negates the mentioned benefits and also puts even more temperature and power draw into a tiny piece of metal with a cooler god only knows how shit it is because Joe slapped an ancient Intel stock cooler on it with superglue and dried cum what the fuck was I talkin about

>>333932 depends if you have a high end parts that youre going to stress frequently than liquid would work better, but if its in the medium ballpark than you dont really need it since it wont draw a lot of power to even heat up that much for cpu i think an aio would be a good investment if youre concerned about temps theyre very simple to install i set up a custom loop for my pc and let me tell you an aio would have been better molding the tubes into shape and and installing was a pain in the ass but it looks cool i guess

I just asked meeperini 2.0 to solve a math problem I have encountered in the final of some Russian math olympiad (respectable stuff, winning which would land you in any elite national university on STEM+economics stuff) back in high school. I won't disclose the problem itself, privacynstuff, but basically it is just solid geometry that doesn't require you knowing any math formulas and the problem itself can be formulated in just 10 words, so the only thing you need is the ability rotate solid shapes in your head. Back that day only 2% of participants managed to solve it correctly in given time. It took meeperini 1 second to name the answer and another second to mathematically prove it. Never before in my life I have experienced being keked this hard.

bought Asus TUF GAMING OC GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12 GB Video Card for $1140 CAD in april 2023 5070 ti is listed at $750 USD = $1090 CAD, so after adjustments i predict 5070 ti will be the same for a NON-OC base model with stock cooler overall i predict the 5070ti to be 5-10% more expensive than the 4070ti for 10-15% more real performance in games (before dlss (which i do not like very much)) of course no benchmarks are out yet, but this generation looks like a fairly easy prediction of being a skip for me. im not going to be upsizing my powersupply until the next generation of gpu, and by then i expect my cpu will still be the top of the charts with very minor discounts against msrp. the only way i could be wrong is if gta6 online exceeds my expectations for gpu performance at 1440p and i want to upgrade gpu, or if major breakthroughs are found in local large language models
tldr; i predict 50 series will be incremental and 40 series hloders can skip it
>>334074 oh and regarding amd gpu, amd announcements always follow nvidia announcements, and the size of their balls in how boldly they show off their products usually is related to how much better their new product compared to nvidia because amd was extremely silent in their reaction this generation, i can reaffirm prediction that amd's gpus will be largely overshadowed again

50 series is poised to be the most disappointing product platform in memory, arguably a worse gamer drought than the coin miner era where normalfags were determined to blow their money chasing greed they didn't understand amd r&d is paying off in cpu but i predict their gpu's will be similarly unimpressive graphics will definitely plateau for the next 3-5 years due to poor gpu resource availability reflecting in consumer surveys and manifest in developer spec targets because graphics will likely not improve, perhaps there will be advancements in ai implementation in games to use machine learning leading to a npc performance gap like in the 2000's with things like source engine games and stalker's a-life

>>334153 Because, believe it or not, that card was cheaper than the AMD ones I found and intel GPUs are completely out of question, since you are not a thirdie, you will never understand. I really tried looking for an (affordable) AMD GPU precisely because I heard of the problems surrounding Nvidia on Linux, but appart from the 500s series, I couldn't find any that wasn't like $180 in shitzilian money so I decided to risk and take this gtx. >>334156 no you did not ,the 50 series have little performance increase that does not justify their price and retards will still buy it for this price and they are not going to go back down i was at the microcenter on monday and all the gpus were gone minus the bottom of the barrel 4gb models its so fucking joever anyone who didnt get one beforehand is fucked or is going to have to fork over some serious cash

If you have a chink console like the r36s, you will like this. It's all the portmaster ports compiled and shit, it has all the Sonic games, Balatro, Doom 3, all the GTAs and even the first 2 Serious Sams. It's around 80Gb. https://archive.org/details/portmaster_ports_202405
>>334154 >gtx Meh, isn't that an older generation of card anyway? I guess that's fine since Nvidia isn't really making money from old over stock or the used market.
>>334180 >thats too premium for russians Why? Are they still using Dial-Up out in the Siberian Gulags? This is tragic, we all need to pitch in now to get fiber optic cable all the way towards country, Kutaka's house so he can download more unique content to share with us without waiting several weeks for a whole 1Megabyte.

I accidentally deleted all the files on the local disk. The retarded windows shit also want's me to chkdsk but this shit will most likely brick my HDD. Also this monitor is consuming a lot of power and my computer is even slower. I cleaned my GPU, PSU and cooler from dust and holy fuck it was like in that Ancient City of Asus meymey.

All modern graphics cards that only have 8gb's of RAM are basically just e-waste at this point. Only APU's can make excuses since they're crammed into small CPU dyes and modern GPU's are basically binder block sized meaning they have more than enough room.
Good thing Intel ARC is finally setting some standards in the current year +11. Intel is saving gaming.

I checked if my sexbox is still working today. I connected it to my monitor and for some reason this dusty piece of shit is still operational (barely however because you have to slap it for the disc drive to come out). The pirated games do not work (tried MW3), it fails to recognize them. I used Gears 3 (licensed) to check if it will be played with keyboard and mouse and it didnt (shockers). After a minute this bitch turned of the game and refused to boot it after that. Gonna sell it as a donor with my gaym collection.
>>334337 the older the cuntsole the higher chance it shits itself it seems, my piss3 slim refuses to turn on but my sexbox 360 still works since its the last produced model. i have owned the piss3 since 2018 and the sexbox since 2019 and played both at least once a week since.
>>334345 Nah, I found out it has nothing to do with BIOS or anything like that. Recently I bought a HDD to backup my stuff, but for some reason I don't know (and because I don't have time to look it up due to having to wagecuck) every time this thing is installed troonix takes too long to boot. It also won't show up in the system so I can't mount it, which is weird because it worked fine the first time I installed it.
>>334336 >single stick memory >core i3 >UHD graphics I'll wait till we get something that can run Iris xi or RDNA 2 graphics at the very least before I consider getting one because I need muh heckin gaymin capabilities on ultra low settings.
>>334347 Understandable, honestly I wonder why they didn't just offer dual channel soldered RAM in 16GB and 32GB options. Yeah it wouldn't be upgradable less you replace the whole mother board but that's fine as the whole older board could simply be slapped in whatever mini PC chassi they offer in the future. Granted I understand why they did this as it's their attempt to break into the budget laptop market but unless you really REALLY want a touch pad+stylist in that form factor that isn't glued together cheaply you got better options. Maybe we'll get a LPCAMM2 RAM ption way in the future once that becomes more standardized.
Personally I'm considering getting the 16" Framework gaymer laptop.
Holy smokes Samsung (Worst Korea's version of Apple - BUT EVEN WORSE SOMEHOW) accidentally made something that doesn't explode and has end user serviceable batteries that can be removed without destroying the device?!?!?!!? Thank goodness they've corrected course and went back to soldering/gluing shit together again (sarcasm 'obviously').

>>334351 i know what you meant moto is minmaxed this shartphone was minmaxed in the camera at the expense of everything else
and im also not an audiophile becuase im mostly deaf from shooting guns and working with machinery. thats why i always use amazon or home depot because their return policy is so good that even if you used it for 24 hours a day for the entire 90 day return period they still accept a return within 5 minutes of you sending it back
>>334353 >and im also not an audiophile becuase im mostly deaf from shooting guns and working with machinery. Sounds like you should be investing in better ear protection or a suppressor instead TBH.
another major contributer to my deafness was running my LS4 5.3L v8 with no exhaust because it fell off somewhere when i was pursued and needed to do a little offroading
>>334370 Yeah I was look into those, might get a cheap wired one for my laptop for when I'm on the go. Unless we hear any new updates on Valves Steam Controller 2.0. Actually I'll probably still get this little wired thing since it's nice and compact and would easily fit in a slim pocket.

I don't really care about the other stuff, Nvidia can get fucked because I ain't funding Palantir plus Lisa Su is muh homie an I don't wanna mess with water cooling if that is in fact a water cooler block since water corrosion can do some funny things if you have no idea what your doing and I don't feel like learning the hard way by ending up with a water damaged board because I connected the wrong copper tube to the wrong aluminum tube or end up having bacteria live in my PC because I used the wrong disinfecting chemicals but even if that radiator an block thing isn't partly water cooling and it's just a normal radiator fan I still wouldn't want it because I hate RGB lighting.

So fucking tired of tinkering with that shit and I'm pretty sure that garbage system made me depressed. Can't even use my Bluetooth headset because bluezman shit or whatever refuses to work, can't play games while listening to music because of the stupid audio crackling, can't play old games or pirated ones because wine decides when it's going to work (it doesn't most of the time) and having to use bootlegged version of programs that I could easily crack in winjeet and with superior quality. Fuck troonix, you'll only use and shill for it if you are: >Unemployed >Schizophrenic about opsec (a.k.a 'p hoarder) >Programmer (lol) >You hate yourself >You want to stand out just for not using winblows >Transgender >Somehow all of the above (you should seriously kill yourself) t. I compared my poortranny IEM sound to tanchjim origin to found out if it's really diminishing returns or it is worth it. It was like wan'er>rosefinch>zsn pro>z300 I have hola but I didnt test it because it hurts my ears (doe hexa doesnt (lole)) KukaZet is surprisingly not the worst one. Also space travel is better than wan'er. And tanchjim origin is the best, ofc. You can clearly hear the difference tho I used 2-3 badly mixed songs as a benchmark.

>>353798 Yes. This is why GoogARYAN had "don't be evil" as their company motto. They only took it down once satanix started gaining popularity, and the woke social justice warriors started gaining traction. In order to fit in with this market, they had to take it down. Google and Microsoft have given us unparalleled levels of technology, and troonix users want us to betray them (note: like Satan did to God). Me personally, I agree fully with Google and Microsoft's vision and mission statements, so I'll be giving them as much data as they ask for in order to help them ensure an optimal user experience for me and others.
>>353788 thank god im a cute and loveable HSTS instead of being an annoying and icky AGP nigger tech"""bro""" who makes being a troony troon their entire personality But jokes aside i really hate how much 't dropped in quality in recent years Its borderline unusable today thanks to pooners, aka absolute bottom of the barrel posters even worse than porn obsessed btards somehow. Its just crazy how lame biofems are, literally incomprehensible. Especially if they are made to believe they are in some way special and/or have a mental illness, their idea of trooning out is just basically take amab troons and do the opposite of what theyre doing. Speaking of normal troons, there is no more gatekeeping on that board either, niggertroons just hugbox each other and see troonism where there isnt any (like how they see anything even remotely feminine as """egg""" behaviour). This was not the case pre-corona at least, and pre-2016 for sure since back then they had standarts and didnt want any prison gay incels joining their ranks because he was too lazy to score normally. Thank you for reading my rant.

>>354435 My point here is simpler. There are problems in graphics more interesting than learning to draw triangles. You would have to reinvent a shit ton square whales to get anything working. If you need an engine — try Godot, you can code directly in C++ via godot-cpp, though it is absolutely possible to code a game without an engine too, simply find a graphics lib. You can go low-level with them too, and I don't see the point in discarding the battle tested high level stuff, you will end up either gluing together the same libs everyone does or replacing it with own half-baked shit

>>374490 its completely frivolous i will say, so i dont recommend it unless you have money just laying around, honestly unless youre playing games with lots of black or colors it makes practically zero difference when youre just browsing web and watching videos
>>376562 apparently it wont fit into my mobo cuz it has only pcie 4.0 slot and it needs a 5.0 slot and the mobos with 5.0 slots only have AM5 sockets (i have AM4 cpu (ryzen 7 5700X) so yeah i guess we`re in for a total rehaul because the next best mobo for am4 (rx 7600) is merely halfway in performance between 9060xt and my old reliable rx 580
>>376582 yeah if youre still running a am4 motherboard your options to upgrade GPU is limited >>374505 its a great card for price desu, you should be able to handle 1440p fine, maybe not ultra settings but perfectly good i got the 7900xt and it handles everything i throw at it with ease >>376583 water cooling for gpu? because i dont think thats needed, definitely an aio for cpu if you can, but air is fine if you get a mid tier one
>>376584 >its a great card for price desu, you should be able to handle 1440p fine, maybe not ultra settings but perfectly good i got the 7900xt and it handles everything i throw at it with ease Whats your setup sorry Maybe i`ll just get 7600xt or sumting similar instead of wasting a bunch of money although it does sounds tempting >water cooling for gpu? No for cpu sorry i didnt specify. I was thinking of getting one of the ryzens too, something midrange which would be better than my old cpu but not too expensive so something like...idk ryzen 7 7700 maybe. Water cooling also shines nicely and thats obviously a reason to get one
bluds are gonna buy shit when the price is still overinflated
>ayymdead Only older cards are worth due to the extra capabilities on Linux. I have a Radeon Vega64 which is a weird ass card from mid 2010s and can move games in Linux like 300% times faster than in Windows, and with raytracing on. Also Ayymdead is gay and they use to abandon support for any 4 year old generation card at least on winshit.
The intelaviv cards are cheaper and way better cards overall right now both in linux and windows.
Ngoya cards are only worth if you want to do slop. But for slop, for the price of the higher tier cards you can get an Apple mini M4 pro with 48Gb of RAM (around $2300) and do slop at similar speeds. There are alternatives for making your own guetto slop machine with multicpu Xeons/Epyc rigs but RAM prices are still shit so it's not worth it.
>>376605 pcie is a format factor BUT also a protocol, the format factor doesn't change and it's pro-retrocompactible (pcie1 cards from 2005 are compatible with pcie5 sockets, and pcie5 cards are compatible with pcie1 sockets), the only thing that changes is the protocol and the controller clock, but the protocol is also pro-retrocompatible. At this fucking day and age, there are no cards that achieve a noticeable performance difference between pcie3,4 and 5, except for the uber tier 4090/5090.
