People think martyrdom means sacrificing yourself for the benefit of others, but that's not martyrdom but heroism
You might say "What's the difference? Heroism glorifies God"
And indeed, it does
But if you think about a knight's death vs. a saint's death:
A knight is he who dies glorified as a hero, having given up everything to protect king and country from the abominable deceivers who serve Satan the master of all lies
But a saint is he who dies reviled by all man, having been seen as a madman and enlightening nobody
So you might think, what's the point of being a saint if you die without anyone profiting from your knowledge?
The point, of course, is to seek not the vain adoration of man, but to seek the everlasting adoration of God
The one who dies estranged from man, the same will be reunited with Almighty God in Heaven
