uuuuuuhhhh

your bios is basic input or something its the layer that runs below your os, tied to your motherboard
your os or operating system has little to no influence on your bios (assuming you dont get a mega virus)
typically if youre having issues its would be on the os layer, though there are some important settings in the bios that can have disastrous effects if you mess around with them
your bios can be updated but its a slightly more of a hassle, you need to find your exact motherboard model and find its bios latest update patch or something, preferably through the manufacturers official site because if you fuck up updating your bios its joever
anyways put it on a preferably blank usb and enter your bios, have it plugged in, find the advanced option, sometimes hidden via shortcuts, and update from usb
