There are a lot of kill bill-likes coming out lately, I call them "girl with gun" movies and they're generally very campy and fun, I am very hyped about the cultural return of the campy gorefest action thriller
Last night me and my parents watched this movie called Ready or Not, and we watched Ready or Not 2 as well. The basic premise is this chick marries a guy who's the son of a billionaire in the board games industry, his family made a deal with Satan where whenever a member of the family gets married, the spouse has to draw a card, if they draw one of the good cards all is well but if they draw the bad evil card, the family must kill them before sunrise the next day or Satan comes to claim all of them. So she has to kill or survive the evil family until sunrise. It's cool shit. I do agree doe a lot of movies now tend to blend into one another, but I think that's because everything is algorithmic now, a movie could be spectacular and nobody will have heard of it because things aren't really massive cultural zeitgeists anymore
