canadian mima sent me an article on why the new deal was bad actually a long long time ago
i dont remember the specifics but it was basically the wrong time for it, i like a lot of the new deal in isolation but apparently it created problems for the working class; for example, increasing wages stifled employment at a time when most people were out of work. sure, it's great the guys with jobs get paid more, but everybody else suffered. That kinda thing.
I don't really have anything against FDR because I don't know a whole hell of a lot about him. As for the new deal, yeah, sure, the policy was great on its own, but I'm hesitant when people praise it, or him on the basis of it, because it may have done more harm than good in practice
