Also I've learned from Instagram that women are practicing a minor form of witchcraft by dressing as Hogwarts girls to invoke the image of a man's childhood crush and capture him that way It seems mostly innocuous though
>>416712 My fadda thought the same thing but his takeaway was that harry potter was spreading satanism indirectly by normalizing magic basically so I ended hating hp when it was popular and only liked it when it was considered soy reddit normie. And now normies sort of like it again but it's in this strange tepid way where they feel the need to constantly remind you Rowling is a dusty old neolib blairite crone, with all the views associated. >Oh, you want to let people know you like harry potter? Pick which apology you'd like to preface it with: >JK Rowling is a transphobe >Cho Chang is racist >Kingsley Shacklebolt is racist >The goblins are antisemitic >Hermione is depicted as annoying for being against slavery >JK Rowling hates fat people >JK Rowling doesn't believe in change at the systemic level; she is a libertarian
I just wanna like what I like without having to give a disclaimer goddamn it. At this point everybody knows who JK Rowling is. She's your aunt who comes over for dinner and swears up and down she's a liberal and then leans in and whispers "but I don't approve of all this trans stuff..."
I just wanna like the fun kids story about going to a school that doesn't suck and waving a stick around goddamnit
>>416731 These political issues don't really matter to me, but here are a few things you might like: - I once read a crazy conspiracy theory on /x/ that stated that J.K. Rowling was an actress and that the books were really written by an MI6 ghostwriter (which would explain her baffling behaviour; it's a way of insulting our intelligence for falling for it) - South Park mostly had it right in saying that Lord of the Rings is basically more Aryan (see vidrel)
>>416734 I'll probably need to see the post to make it make sense. If Rowling is an actor why isn't she, yannow, in anything? Unless by actor you mean she's like an MI6 asset meant to influence the public or something. If so, influence them into what?
As far as Harry Potter vs LOTR goes I haven't seen LOTR even doe I have it on DVD. One of these days. I'm not generally a big fantasy guy because once you know shit about medieval history it starts to suck. Slaying dragons is cool but not having toilet paper or modern medicine is kind of a kick in the dick.
I sometimes wonder how fantasy worlds would work in modern settings though, like what does skyrim in 2026 look like, how do magic and all these fantasy races affect regular daily life. Less dramatic but I wonder the same thing about hp since most or all of the story takes place in the 90s so I wonder if the current hogwarts class just be on they phone the whole time or not. I imagine it's easier to be engaged in real life when you can do magic so it isn't depressing and horrible.
>>416741 >If so, influence them into what? I mean she did basically lead the TERF uprising in united hellhole so theres that, why would glowniggers want that is another question though I dont buy it that she didnt write the books but they are kinda mid in the first place really so they might as well be written by a woeman
