that's what I was getting from it, honestly. though if a bit over simplified.

also, as a landlord, it's best to keep your rent 10% or 15% under market value so your tenant can have some wiggle room if they come into some trouble with bills, unexpected purchases or such. this way they'll have an easier time with rent on a rainy day and are less likely to leave.

I mean, that seems like basic business to me
Nobody likes feeling like moneycattle so by not being an extractive asshole you make more in the long-term because when your landlord is nice to you it's more difficult to realize or rationalize that capitalism is one big state-sanctioned racket designed to make a handful of people rich at the expense of the rest, and all your landlord really does is extort you for a basic human need because a piece of paper says they own the land your little shack is built on. If they're a good landlord they'll come and repair their property with as few questions asked as possible but even that strikes me as a bone landlords eventually threw to the plebs in order to convince them renting is anything but a raw deal that people take solely because of financial desperation and the coercion of the alternative being homelessness
:damn:
shit is crazy

I completely agree with the first half. it may be my house, but it's another's home.
>maintenance
I don't really do that myself. I just have a fund from pooling a percentage of rents each week, that I use incase a place needs work or repairs.
I don't understand why other landlords I know complain about upkeep. it's not hard to put 5% in an account each week.
